The greatest disco anthems carry a message. "Get It On," from Michael The Lion's self-titled 2017 EP, is one of the great message songs of recent memory. With lyrics and vocals from powerhouse songwriter Amy Douglas (Horse Meat Disco, DFA). Those lyrics, penned in about a spirit of perseverance, have taken on their own life after their writing. "When trouble finds you, and times are hard..." was a prophetic line indeed.

Originally released as a vinyl-only EP track, Get It On is now available digitally for the first time... alongside a previously unreleased remix by the inventor of the extended remix, Tom Moulton. Moulton, who rose to legendary status through his work with dozens of canonical disco acts of the 1970s, is among the greatest ever to arrange a disco record - and the through-line from his work with Philly Sound and New York artists of yesteryear carries through on this arrangement for Philadelphia's Michael The Lion and New York's Amy Douglas - some of the modern disciples of the classic spirit.
